Will the harsh fight against illegal immigration hurt Republicans in the future?

I believe the republicans fight against Hispanics will definitely help them for the near future. Not only is it suppressing the Hispanic vote but they also gain votes from people who are for the cause. But in less than 10 years, nothing will matter anymore. Out west we're already seeing it.
