Why does my face secrete so much oil?

My face gets oily/shiny really fast on my forehead, chin, and nose. What is the deal?? This makes my makeup not last as long as I would like it too, and I hate it! -_- Plus its unsightly, in my opinion, when you have a shiny face like that. I have a pressed powder compact, but that's not good to use right? So what can I do to solve this problem? I don't like to moisturize my face because of this, but if I don't, my face has dry areas. I don't have acne, just this really annoying problem. Why does this happen and what can I do to help stop it??
